November Twisters in Canada!

I know we have had some crazy weather of late but today takes the cake! A tornado hit Hamilton Ontario around 4 pm today. Canada does have some damaging tornadoes from time to time. One last Summer near Toronto was exceptionally strong. A Twister in November however, is exceedingly rare.

Do not get the idea that this means a warm Winter. It does not. (See my blog on the winter forecast-I have not changed my mind!)

We will see an end to the record warmth around here as a cool front is on our doorstep as I write this and will drop temps. 20 degrees tomorrow. Look for temps. near freezing by Friday morning.

Thanks to all who have commented on our new weather graphics. The big thanks goes to our station artist who did a fabulous job. Most TV station weather graphics are lousy because it is done by committee. We did not do it that way! I myself could care less what color they are as long as I can squeeze the weather information I want on them!

That said I do know the importance of pleasing and easy to read graphics. Funny thing about working as Meteorologist in television. The first thing you realize is that you need to be a bit of a graphic artist. I can assure you they do not mix anything like that kind of class in between atmospheric dynamics and the Calculus!

Later!
